I did go to Hermann. It's cute but it's a pub crawl. I didn't think that was the scene. There's literally nothing else there.
My favorite thing about the trip was sitting beside a quaint little empty train station located next to the river in perfect weather waiting on the train. It felt like something I thought only existed in movies.
The day before my trip a BNSF freight train broke down and Amtrak had to have buses come pick up all the train passengers.
